Snowy Day at LRPS

Monday 12th December 2022 saw heavy snowfall, but thanks to the hard work of the site manager and the staff team, the school was open and lots of fun was had!

Vision Evening

On Wednesday 12th October in the KS1 Hall. The event designed to make our school even better was attended by teachers, staff, governors, the school council, mid days assistants and LSAs.

Everyone worked together in a collegial manner with the same common goal- to make our school a great school!

In total there were 62 people in the hall which shows that we care and we want to make a difference. It was a very productive evening. Discussions were around what is good about the school, what we can make better, what values we want to instil at the school and what direction we want to take the school in.

Once all the ideas are collated, the big picture will be shared with governors, staff, pupils and parents.

Keeping cool in this heatwave we've kept the children as cool as possible. Yesterday our PA delivered 420 icepops, today we gave the children ice lollies. The excitement was phenomenal (from both the children and staff!!)

The Parents Association Summer Fayre took place on 23rd June, a fantastic event enjoyed by all which raised an incredible £7,746.00. Fantastic effort, many thanks to our wonderful PA for organising.

County Final WINNERS

On Tuesday 14 June, Mr Warren and Mr Cooper took a group of year 3 and 4 cricketers to represent the school in the Rapid Fire Cricket County Final against seven other schools, after the school came in at second place in the Brentwood Borough Competition.

Coming into the final Long Ridings had five wins and only one loss under their belts. The final game was against New Hall, who had not lost a game.

The team performed phenomenally and achieved 96 runs, their highest batting performance, ensuring that they came out on top and went home as the Year 3 and 4 Rapid Fire Cricket County final champions! A huge congratulations to all of our players.
